About us

Chemcord began in 1993, when two Chemistry teachers in Scotland grew frustrated by the lack of quality resources for Science courses. Rather than wait for someone else to fix the problem, they decided to do it themselves — and Chemcord was born.

Their first innovation was simple but effective: recording Chemistry revision notes on cassette tapes, helping pupils study outside the classroom. These “Chemistry Recordings” gave the company its name, and from there, word quickly spread. Pupils and teachers across Scotland began turning to Chemcord for clear, reliable support in Chemistry and Physics.

Fast forward to 2025, and Chemcord is under new ownership, with a renewed focus on improving and updating our materials. We’re refreshing content to match the latest SQA guidelines and enhancing every resource to make learning even clearer and more effective.

Our team of educators still lives and breathes the Scottish curriculum. We know exactly what pupils and teachers need to succeed, from revision and exam prep to clear explanations that make tricky topics click.
